Storm-Damaged Roof in Pontypridd - What Should You Do First?

Looking for emergency roof repairs in Pontypridd? You're in good company — it's one of the roofing jobs we're called out for most often across a former industrial town at the confluence of the Taff and Rhondda rivers, known for its historic Lido, Ynysangharad Park and rows of valley terraced housing. A leaking or storm-damaged roof needs attention quickly. What begins as a small leak can soon lead to damaged ceilings, insulation, plasterwork, timber and electrical systems if rainwater continues entering the property.

What to Do First

A leaking or storm-damaged roof needs attention quickly. What begins as a small leak can soon lead to damaged ceilings, insulation, plasterwork, timber and electrical systems if rainwater continues entering the property.

Whether you've discovered water coming through the ceiling, lost tiles during strong winds or noticed sudden damage around your chimney or flat roof, contact us for advice and a fast response.

Finding the Source of a Roof Leak

Water appearing on a ceiling doesn't necessarily mean the leak is directly above it. Rainwater can enter through damaged tiles or flashing and travel along roofing timbers before becoming visible elsewhere. We inspect the affected roof to identify the likely source rather than simply repairing the first obvious defect. Where possible, we'll carry out a permanent repair. If weather conditions or the extent of damage make this impossible immediately, temporary weatherproofing may be used to protect the property.

In Pontypridd specifically, it's worth factoring in the age and construction of your property — older buildings tend to need closer attention around original roof junctions and detailing than newer, tightly-built homes.
